Funding Sources
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Buffalo, Inc. is designated as a 501(c)3 organization by the Internal Revenue Service. This designation means that we have a voluntary Board of Directors and that there are no shareholders. Therefore, all earnings are used to provide and maintain the delivery of our program services to you, after operational expenses.
If you would like to make a contribution to our agency,
we welcome any and all participation.
All contributions to us are 100% tax deductible and a receipt will be provided. Your gift can also be designated for a certain program that we offer, such as education.
Most of our funding comes from voluntary contributions from creditors who participate in a Creditor Repayment Program (CRP). Since creditors have a financial interest in getting paid, most creditors are willing to make a contribution to help fund our agency. These contributions are usually calculated as a percentage of payments you make through your CRP - up to approximately 8% of each payment received. However, your accounts with your creditors will always be credited with 100% of the amount paid through us and we will work with all creditors regardless of whether the contribute to our agency.
